Today was Rich’s first day at MSA for his IV Therapy, so we didn’t go into Vancouver. He is going to be on IV Therapy for 2 to 3 months but they are able to do it in Abbotsford and we only need to travel into Van once a week.

Rich is in training!!!
Hey Everyone, so… I have given over the blog job to Rich. I am trying to show him how to figure it all out, so be patient with him. LOL!!!
He is home and we are having a great time as NEWLYWEDS FINALLY!!!! We now have the Christmas tree up and a few Christmasy things around the house. Our new place is finally in order for some visitors, so now that he is home if you want to come and visit just let him know and he’d be happy to have you over. He is still needing to go back to VGH every morning for an hour of IV Antibiotics. So if there is a morning that works for you and you want to either drive him or go along with him to keep him company he’d be thrilled to have someone to talk to. (He is getting a bit sick of me all the time and I have started work full time again.) Thanks so much for your support through the last few months, we are definately through the toughest part.
The good news is that we have found a family doctor for both of us FINALLY. So we are going to try and get him a home care nurse so that we don’t have to go in everyday. But… he needs to have IV Antibiotics for the next 2 to 3 months everyday and home care in Abbotsford doesn’t do that, they jsut do wound care and they will change his bag and give him his daily shot. So, we are still trying to work out all the kinks with his home care nurse.

we are days away now!!!
So… this morning Rich met his new doctors for this month and they said that he is just days away from coming home. Not for a day pass either…!!! FOR GOOD!!!! They didn’t tell him exactly what day they just said that he has some antibiotics to finish and if things keep improving then he is free to go!!!
This was the greatest news for the worst day ever (and it’s only 11:18am) Our microwave decided that it was finished this morning and I get to work and step into and inch of water. But… the afternoon can’t get much worse, we’ll see about that!

good news!!!
Well… things are looking up in our world!!! After Rich’s surgery he was on a constant morphene rate per hour which started at 1.5mg every hour. They have now got him down to .4mg per hour and he is not in nearly as much pain as he was before. The insition is looking a lot better and is closing up nicely. They said that he could get a day pass today from 10-4pm but no one wants to drive out there in the snow and then take him back tonight. So that means that we are not far off from him coming home!!!! WOOHOOO!!!! Finallly!!!
